RUSSELL WEIS

Russ Weis is the President and COO of Walsh Vineyards management in Napa, California. He has more than 30 years of experience in the global grape and wine industry beginning with his early years working in his family’s vineyards in Madera, California.

Over his career, Weis has worked with storied wine brands like Almaden, Beaulieu Vineyards, and Robert Mondavi as well as iconic estates like Inglenook, Opus One and Silverado Vineyards. His duties have spanned wine marketing, media, sales, and strategic planning.

Most recently, Weis was president of Silverado Vineyards where for 18 years he directed the winery and the estate’s six vineyards. Prior to joining Silverado, he was a managing owner of Cellers Melis in the Priorat region of Spain and Senior Vice President of International Business Development at Robert Mondavi Winery.

For the larger wine community, Weis has served as chairman of the boards of the Stags Leap District and the Napa Valley Vintners in addition to subcommittee work in Napa and at the California Wine Institute.
